Breaking the silence

June 26, 2016 by Stella 4 Comments

Hey Everyone!

Sorry for the dramatic title and also for the lengthy radio silence.

I’m alive, life has just been extra busy/hectic these past couple of months: I’ve been around the world (or through countries) a few times: spent a few weeks in Sri Lanka, discovered the amazing St. Petersburg in Russia, made a stop in Brussels and also spent a few sunny days in Rome celebrating Boyfriend’s birthday with some delicious pizza and gelato.

Besides those trips we are also past an apartment renovation (can’t believe it’s finally over, it seemed like the works would never end!), school is over which means it’s time to study for exams. :-/ Oh and summer’s here with a sweltering heatwave, we have trouble sleeping it’s been so hot this week.

So this is what life has been lately around here.

And I also have a confession: I have made and shot several recipes but wanted to post my travel recaps first. But you know how it is when you come back from your vacation: you have hundreds (or thousands) of photos that you’ve got to get through to select that dozen, which you’ll show to friends and family. And besides work, school and renovations, I didn’t get around to do them before the next travel rolled around. And then I was back there again: with plans for a post and hundreds of photos to go through. I know, the vicious cycle of travelling. 😉

Anyway, I just wanted to say I’m sorry there’s been no post since January and that I’ve missed blogging. But I’m back!

And being back home has its perks, like being able to go to the farmers’ market on Saturday morning and buying tons of fresh produce! Don’t you just love this time of the year when the choices are so abundant? Baby zucchinis, strawberries, blueberries, cherries, sour cherries, apricots, peaches, and the list goes on.

I plan on doing recap posts of our travels, but until then here are a few previews of our trip to Rome:

So what have you been up to? What are your summer plans? Any great vacations you’re looking forward to?

Thank you Ashley! Good to be back (though now we are apartment hunting, so moving may be in the cards… lol). Have a great weekend!

Thank you Evi! I always have a great time travelling, but there’s also something for coming home and being in your own bed/kitchen. 😉
